“OH THAT IS IT!” Blaine screams, and he throws his laptop across the room.

Kurt could hear the scream and the crash of the computer hitting the bottom of Blaine’s desk from his place in the kitchen, where he was making coffee, and he bolted upstairs to Blaine’s room.

When he ran inside Blaine was curled up in a corner, laptop shoved away on the other side of the room and his cellphone clutched in his hand.

“Kurt? Ms. Pillsbury? What-”

“Honey sit down.” Kurt’s voice is gentle, soft. It’s terrifying. Why would Kurt be so serious? So worried looking? Emma’s wide, concerned eyes weren’t helping either.

“What’s wrong?”

“Just sit down, Blaine.” Emma said placatingly. Looking back and forth between the two, Blaine did as told. Kurt sat to his right. Out of the corner of his eye Blaine could see Kurt eyeing him, watching his every move. Blaine’s heart beat faster. What was going on?

“Now Blaine,” Emma started “Some…things have been brought to my attention.”

“Things?” Blaine asked, swallowing convulsively.

“Kurt told me you recently confided in him something very serious.”

Blaine’s eyes widened, panic overtaking him. Whipping around to Kurt, he squeaked, “You told her?!”

“Honey I’m sorry, but this is really serious.” Kurt said, eyes welling up. “I couldn’t just-I couldn’t keep it to myself-”

“But I asked you to!” How could Kurt betray him like this?

“Blaine,” Emma said, quickly jumping in. “Blaine what you told Kurt is very serious. He was right to come to me.” Leaning forward a little she locked eyes with him, eyes compassionate and loving. “You don’t have to go through this alone.”

“I—no.” Blaine quickly stood, panic overtaking him. I have to get out of here.

“Blaine, wait!” Kurt begged, grabbing his boyfriend’s arm. “Don’t-”

“I told you because I trusted you, Kurt!” Blaine hissed, “How can I trust you now?”

“Please, Blaine – you – you need help-”

“I don’t need help! There’s nothing wrong with me!”

“Then would you empty your bag?” Both Blaine and Kurt froze at Emma’s words.

“What?” Blaine asked, hugging his shoulder bag closer to his chest. “My—my bag?”

“If you don’t have a problem then there won’t be anything in your bag, will there?” Emma was eerily calm, Blaine didn’t like it. Nor did he like the idea of opening his bag. They’ll be so ashamed.

“Blaine.” Kurt begged, voice breaking. Locking eyes with him Blaine knew he had to do it. He had to let them help – he needed help.

With shaking hands he slowly undid the flap on his bag and emptied the contents onto Emma’s desk. Kurt gasped, Emma shook her head. Blaine sank back into the chair he’d jumped out of, burying his head in his hands. “I’m sorry.” He sobbed. He felt Kurt’s arm wrap around his shoulder.

“It’s ok baby,” He whispered, voice shaking, “We’re gonna help you, we’re gonna help you…”

“Is this all you have?” Emma asked, looking from her desk up to Blaine. The teen shakily shook his head. “How many?”

“Thousands.” The whisper barely left his lips, a quiet sob escaped Kurt beside him.

“Oh, Blaine…”

Emma stood, walking around her desk and sitting on the edge. Leaning down she placed her hand on Blaine’s shoulder. “Admitting you have a problem is the hardest step. It’ll get easier from here. And we’ll be behind you the whole way.” Blaine said nothing, just sniffled. He looked from his guidance counselor to Kurt to his colorful possessions on the desk. “They don’t own you, Blaine.”

“You don’t own me.” Blaine whispered, eyes locked on the desk. “Bowties don’t own me.”

And he could swear, in that moment, he heard the big pink one hiss.
